Modern Web Technology on the Client Side

In the future, the KRIS client will be a pure web client. This offers users a number of advantages:

• Platform independence: KRIS works on different operating systems via a web browser and is not tied to a specific device. Hosting the entire application in the cloud is also conceivable.
• Increased security: Communication between the server and client is SSL-encrypted and runs via a single TCP port, which increases security and reduces administrative effort.
• Easier distribution and updating: KRIS does not need to be installed by the user. Updates are carried out centrally and are immediately available to all users.
• Easy accessibility: KRIS can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, provided that this is permitted by the network. This increases user mobility and flexibility.
• Costs and maintenance: Since no software needs to be installed or updated on the clients, maintenance and support costs are reduced. Diagnostics can be performed on the server side, and changes are implemented centrally.
• Integration with modern web technologies: Web clients can be easily integrated with other web services and APIs and benefit from modern web technologies and frameworks. This makes integration with other web applications very easy (PCS neo, WinCC Unified, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Responsive design: KRIS is responsive and can automatically adapt to different screen sizes and resolutions, which is particularly important for mobile devices.
