Manage, save and load recipes into the control system

Recipe management

Variety-based Production – Simple and Efficient

Recipe management systems make the work of plant operators, production managers, and process engineers easier. For 30 years, KRIKO has been developing and implementing KRIS solutions that are specifically tailored to the requirements of the process industry.

KRIS offers lean and efficient recipe management. Recipe parameters can be stored centrally, regardless of the automation system.

Areas of Application for Recipe Management

A recipe management system makes sense wherever process or product variations are required

  • Machine parameterization
  • Converting production to a different product variant
  • Controlling product components that result in different end products in different compositions

When switching between product variants in process plants, parameters and product data are often processed individually and decentralized. This makes changeover processes complicated. To achieve short changeover times and reliable product changes, KRIS offers recipe management that brings more standardization, efficiency, and reliability to your production. Recipe parameters can be stored centrally, regardless of the automation system. Recipe values from optimally produced batches can be read back. As the central platform for your production, KRIS recipe management can communicate with both the control level via OPC and with ERP systems to achieve a continuous automated workflow. At the touch of a button, the operator can send extensive recipe data records to the process level.

Safety/operating concepts

Recipes enable far-reaching changes to your plant. KRIS therefore offers sophisticated safety mechanisms and access rights. You can define individual access rights for viewing, editing, or loading your recipes.

Do you have PCS 7?

No problem! When used in conjunction with a Siemens PCS 7 control system, KRIS can be seamlessly integrated into the PCS 7 operator station. Parameters and setpoints can then be changed and loaded directly at the control system operator station.

Top Features

Here we present the new and improved features of the fourth generation of KRIS.

Online Monitoring

With the online monitoring function, you maintain control over your production parameters at all times – in real time and with maximum transparency.

  • Targeted monitoring of important values: Keep an eye on target and actual values during production and intervene immediately in the event of deviations.
  • Efficient production preparation: In the blue area of the overview, you can conveniently prepare the target values for the next data set – quickly and clearly.
  • Live monitoring in the green area: Here you can see the active production values – including actual and target values – and identify deviations immediately.
  • Smart variety comparisons: With the “Compare” function, you can analyze different recipes and select the variety with the least deviation from the current one for a particularly efficient transition.
  • Minimized setup times: One click on “Load parameters” is all it takes to switch seamlessly to the next variety – without manual intervention or long changeover times.
  • Limit values at a glance: Critical thresholds are visible at all times, allowing you to avoid quality deviations at an early stage.
  • Seamless connection to the control system: A green check mark indicates whether all values between the recipe and the control system match.
  • Transparent error detection: In the event of deviations, a yellow check mark informs you of discrepancies.

Snapshot Function

With the snapshot function in KRIS, you can easily transform successful process parameters into new recipes – quickly, precisely, and efficiently.

  • Save best values with a click: If a process is running particularly well, one click is all it takes to save all current target values as a snapshot.
  • New recipes from practice: You can create a new recipe directly from the snapshot – based on tried-and-tested settings.
  • Continuous optimization: Use your own best values to improve existing recipes or develop new recipes with the best values.
  • Efficient knowledge transfer: Good experiences are not lost – they become reproducible and can be used again at any time.

Show Information

The “Show information” function allows you to store additional information about a data record – either relating to the entire data record or to individual parameters.

The following content can be added:

  • Formatted text (rich text format)
  • Images

This feature allows you to record personal experiences, notes, or comments about a recipe and share them with others. Each note is automatically labeled with the name of the author and the date of the last change.
